Thanks for the information. I've seen arthritis on both sides of my family, so it's great to understand it - and maybe prevent it - a little better.

Dr, Hubbard,

Thanks for stopping by with some needed wisdom. I'm always amazed with any MD that has a practice and still a desire to inform with on-line writing too. You have a great site too.

Thanks for the info,

Arthritis is wide-spread, painful, possibly debilitating and, often frustrating to treat. Beware of miracle cures. There are none.
The non-inflammatory arthritis (called osteoarthritis or degenerative)is the most common. The best treatment and prevention is exercise (water aerobics and swimming are great) and no excess weight (puts stress on the joints).
Otherwise take any otc med that seems to help.
Note: See your healthcare provider for more specific diagnosis and plan.

Wow! So much information. Many individuals are unaware that a healthy lifestyle can have a positive impact when dealing with arthritis.

Arthritis is an unfortunate condition which affects most all of us at some stage in our lives. If you are a sufferer, a GREAT form of therapy is aquatic physical therapy or occupational therapy, depending on what your needs are!! Here is a link that can help you find a practitioner in your area! http://www.aquaticpt.org/

Thanks Leah,

My mother now suffers with hands that are disjointed from this disease and I'm sure it's very painful. The peanut oil seems like a good idea, I'll pass it along.
