Love it or hate it the live grand finale for the Biggest Loser Families Season 6 is tonight on NBC at 8:00pm/7:00pm central, and it draws a huge audience. ¬†It’s because we in the United States are fascinated by people that can overcome adversity and succeed. ¬†¬†Almost every one of the players will come close to losing 100 pounds for this final.¬† Last year’s champion Ali Vincent was the first female winner of the show and lost 47.86% or her body weight or 112 pounds.

Now every one of these contestants put themselves into this position in the first place simply by not watching what they eat and failing to have anything close that resembles an exercise regimen.¬† ¬†This year’s contestants were handpicked by their trainers Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels being a son, daughter, husband, wife, mother or father that both were clinically obese.¬† There is a certain amount of drama as well since all will be trying to win $250,000.¬† This year also gave rise to a new villian Vicky that made people root against her. The conditions for the show are really not what a normal working class family could hope to accomplish since they exercise 6 to 8 hours each day and are on a very strict low calorie diet.¬† The methods used to reduce as well as the message from the weigh-in may be less than what a healthy lifestyle looks for. On the last show however, we don’t really care now as this is the great reveal.¬† This is where the real story of Eliza Doolittle comes to life.¬† Ugly duckling turns into a swan and for a few moments we are fascinated by the enormous sacrifice and dedication each person put into the final weigh-in.¬† Good luck to all and I’ll have a recap of the finale tomorrow.
